Mission

M1 Support Services is a Texas Limited Partnership founded in 2003 by William Shelt, President, and Kathleen Hildreth, Managing Director. We developed our aviation support services capability by providing our customers with “Mission First” exceptional performance.

First

M1 has the autonomy and agility to respond rapidly to customer needs. We use our extensive recruiting tools to locate, hire, train, and retain the best management and technically skilled personnel available to execute programs.

Support

M1 Support Services Home Office holds a Certificate of Registration to AS9110C and ISO 9001:2015 used for the Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul and Program Management for Government, Military and Aerospace Equipment. This certified Quality Management System (QMS) is basis for individual program operations. Additionally, M1 operates two FAA Part 145 Repair Stations (MISR852D and QR9R369D) to support commercial derivative aircraft operated by the military.

About the Owners
William Shelt
President & Principal

Mr. Shelt has more than thirty years experience in the technical and professional services industry, utilizing technology applications and lean business processes to reduce customer costs and increase efficiency. He has proven success in planning, organizing and staffing globally dispersed operations to meet customer requirements, then directing and controlling company resources to achieve performance objectives.

While attending a FAA FAR Part 61 Flight School, Mr. Shelt helped launch a successful flight training software development firm. Since that time, he has been in business roles with increasing responsibility serving the government and commercial sectors for FlightSafety International, E-Systems, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin and DynCorp International. He was actively involved in the sale and transition of DynCorp to Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC). As the Sr. Vice President, he was responsible for all new business efforts in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Asia and North America resulting in a 23% annual growth rate and over $4B in new business in less than 3 years.

As co-founder of M1, Mr. Shelt has been directly responsible for business development, contract operations, finance, security and regulatory compliance as the company has grown from two employees to over 6500. He is also the President of two international subsidiaries of M1 Support Services in Germany and in Qatar.

Mr. Shelt has an undergraduate degree in Marketing and Master of Business Administration degree with specialization in International Business. During this time, he studied at the Ecole Superiuere de Commerce et Entreprises in Nantes, France, and earned recognition in Beta Gamma Sigma, the National Business Honorary Society.

Kathleen Hildreth
Managing Director & Principal

Throughout her 30 year career in government and professional services, Ms. Hildreth has been a leader in winning and maintaining new business, maximizing customer satisfaction and implementing innovation. As co-founder of M1 Support Services (M1) in 2003, she has grown a successful services company from two employees to over 6500.

Prior to starting M1, from 2001 to 2003 Ms. Hildreth served as Vice President Business Development for DynCorp International, responsible for pursuing and winning new professional and technical service business worldwide. From 1991 to 2001 she performed in a wide range of jobs in marketing and operations for DynCorp including Program Manager, Contract Administrator, Logistics Manager, Capture Manager, and Proposal Manager. During her tenure at DynCorp, she was instrumental in winning over $7 billion of new and recompete business.

Operationally, she has managed Business and Logistics functions for individual Government contracts with as many as 450 employees and $100 million in annual revenue and currently oversees operations and quality for over 6500 employees worldwide.

During her 30-year career, Ms. Hildreth has also held various aerospace related engineering, logistics, maintenance, and business management positions for General Electric, Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Army. A FAA commercial helicopter pilot, she served in the U.S. Army as an Aviation Maintenance Officer and Maintenance Test Pilot. She is qualified in the UH-1 and UH-60 helicopters.

Ms. Hildreth holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy and M.Ed. from Georgia Southern University.
